Even fed us lunch, which I didn't expect him to do. Molt or not his fowl looked very good I was very impressed with his place. We walked his yard looking over the apply and orange crates he had scattered around lol I'm just kiddn guys! He don't got no apple crates with chickens in em. Drove 6 1/2 hrs one way to meet the sorry rascal we know as lablue, and I got say I really enjoyed meeting the ol' hound. Well boys here it is, the truth about lablue! Well the truth is, I got up at 2 am. I know this was kind of long but thanks in advance for any advice I want my birds to be in top physical health. will this be sufficient or do I need to mix my in feed? If so what is best. any tips or advice for someone like me starting out? There is a place here that sells the Purina brand game bird mix. but I've never had a problem with that before since I have a black and tan that keeps a close eye on things. either way I figure it will help in keeping predators out. it's 2 of them put together to make a 20x20 or I can rearrange them to make 30x10. also in addition to the pens I have an area I have fenced in with those dog kennel. also do I need to cut a spot out for feeding and watering or will it be fine for them to reach through the wire and eat and drink. I have to add a PVC roost pole and find some material for covering 1/2 of the top of the pen. The pens I built are 40" square x 48" tall made with 2x4 base and 2x4 welded wire. after talking with a friend of mine who has many game fowl I decided this was something I would love to be a part of since I love the birds for their beauty and game. I have owned reg chickens and 1 game rooster before and he recently passed. in preparation for the 2 stags, 1 brood cock with 3 hens I went ahead and built my pens today. I'm new to the sacred hobby of owning game fowl.
